A lifelong resident of the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, I graduated from St. Catherine University in 1978 with degrees in philosophy and journalism. After 30+ years experience in editing, proofreading and legal publishing support, I am now happily retired. I own a small craft business with a portion of profits dedicated to two local charities in my granddaughter's name. I have ten grandchildren - nine living and one deceased, three married children, three cats and one husband.
On January 21, 2013, life took an unexpected turn and I became a bereaved grandmother.
In the fall of 2014, my parish bulletin ran an article offering the perfect volunteer opportunity at a time I truly needed it. For the past nine years, I have served in various positions with Growing Through Loss - Twin Cities South Suburban, an interdenominational coalition of churches in the south metro that provides information, support and sharing to grieving individuals. My other volunteer involvement includes Children's Hospitals of Minnesota and my home church's Hope Ministry: Life After Loss. I am honored that you are reading this - my first written attempt at sharing my story, feelings and reflections since the death of my granddaughter, Kitty Rose.
