![]() It's Easter morning at 8:30 a.m. My ham is in the oven and I am taking a moment to gear up for our family dinner. Everyone comes to grandma and grandpa's house on Easter. My brothers and sisters will be here with their families. It will be quite a special day. But, it won't be complete. Kitty will not be here. I will look at my twin granddaughters who were born two weeks after Kitty and who were baptized with her. We called them the triplet cousins. In my mind, I will compare Kitty to the twins and wonder how big she would be, in what ways she would resemble them. I will imagine them running together through the back yard in search of the hidden eggs ... laughing and tripping in the still brown grass.
What will be most difficult, however, will be watching my daughter and son-in-law having all of the same thoughts ... and then some. But, it's Easter, when Jesus rose from the dead for us ... for the promise of eternal life. That is what I need to keep at the front of my mind today. Kitty is running and giggling at the ultimate Easter egg hunt with all of the other children in Heaven. The day will come when I won't have to imagine any longer. My wishes to you for a very Happy and Blessed Easter.
